DUHnocchio's ANTI-EUROPEAN travel restrictions

Coronavirus: EU condemns DUHnocchio travel ban on 26 European countries .

The Covid-19 pandemic is a "global crisis", said European Commission presidents Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel. It "requires cooperation rather than unilateral action," they said.

DUHnocchio's travel restrictions are due to go into effect on Friday at midnight EDT (0400 GMT). They affect only countries that are members of the Schengen border-free travel area [which does not include Russia] and does not affect US citizens, the UK, or Ireland.

It is a major escalation in the response to Covid-19 by Idiot-in-Chief, who has been accused of inaction. However, the ban was met with frustration in Washington as well as abroad. ----------
The virus is already transmitting as community-acquired infection in the USA. Horse. Barn. Out.

UNpresident Idiot-in-Chief has made a number of misleading statements about his decision on Jan. 31 to impose travel restrictions related to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

DUHnocchio has [misleadingly] referred to the travel restrictions as a “travel ban.” There isn’t an outright ban, as there are exceptions, including for Americans and their family members.
DUHnocchio LIED that he was “bold” in imposing travel restrictions even though “everybody said, it’s too early, it’s too soon” and “a lot of people that work on this stuff almost exclusively” told him “don’t do it.” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said the decision stemmed from “the uniform recommendations of the career public health officials here at HHS.”
DUHnocchio LIED that Democrats “loudly criticized and protested” his announced travel restrictions, and that they “called me a racist because I made that decision.” DUHnocchio is overstating Democratic opposition. None of the party’s congressional leaders and none of the Democratic candidates running for president have directly criticized that decision, though at least two Democrats have.
DUHnocchio LIED that the travel restrictions “saved a lot of lives” and reduced U.S. COVID-19 cases to “a very small number.” But experts say there isn’t enough data to make that determination. A study in the journal Science found the various travel limitations across the globe initially helped to slow the spread, but the number of cases worldwide rose anyway because the virus had already begun traveling undetected internationally.

Azar declared a public health emergency for the novel coronavirus on Jan. 31, and announced the travel restrictions to and from China, effective Feb. 2. On Feb. 29, DUHnocchio expanded those travel restrictions to Iran. DUHnocchio has repeatedly boasted that his decision to impose the travel restrictions was bold and worked. Partisan STUPIDITY is dangerous

Beware the Deadly Contagion Spread by Blowhards: Ideology is getting in the way of science.

As we wrestle with the new coronavirus, let’s learn lessons from the 2009-10 H1N1 swine flu outbreak in the United States. At first, polls back then showed that both Democrats and Republicans were about equally concerned with the outbreak.

Yet because President Barack Obama was in the White House at the time, some C*N*servatives started dismissing the swine flu as a hoax. Wrong-wing media figures were particularly contemptuous at Obama administration suggestions that people get a vaccination against it.

“Screw you,” Rush Limbaugh declared. “I am not going to take it, precisely because you’re now telling me I must. You have some idiot government official demanding, telling me I must take this vaccine. I’ll never take it.”

Over on FAUX Lies, Glenn Beck was similarly conspiratorial. “You don’t know if it’s going to make things worse,” he warned, urging viewers to do “the exact opposite” of what the government recommended.

UNpresident-in-waiting called into FAUX Lies and dismissed concern about the swine flu, telling host Neil Cavuto that “it’s going to go away.” LIAR-in-Chief also cautioned that “the vaccines can be very dangerous.”

Matthew Baum of Harvard found that people in red states were indeed less likely to get vaccinated — and more likely to die of swine flu. In the end, that swine flu outbreak wasn’t as lethal as many had feared, but it still killed or contributed to the deaths of as many as 400,000 people worldwide. In the United States, it infected 60 million people, caused 274,000 hospitalizations and killed 12,469 people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The implication: While wrong-wing blowhards may infuriate Democrats, they sometimes pose the greatest danger to their own true believers. The bombast of people like Limbaugh and LIAR-in-Chief in this case was lethal — but only if you believed them. Doubting LIARS conferred some immunity.

One lesson of that 2009 outbreak is the paramount importance of relying on information from scientific experts, not from ideological soul mates. I’ve been speaking to epidemiologists and other health experts, and they emphasize that in a crisis like the present one, the government must protect its credibility and the public should rely on experts rather than partisans on either left or wrong.

NYT's hypocricy

Watching the NYT's opinion pieces over the last several months, I formed the distinct impression that the NYT editorial board was quietly opposed to her candidacy.

Now that Senator Warren is 'safely' out of the race, they have printed a exposé of the sexism beneath her failure to prevail over a progressive blighted my a myocardial infarction, and a never-bright moderate blighted by apparent early dementia:

I am dismayed, but un-surprised that the still-too-far-wrong American democrats chose unwisely. After all, the American electorate was sufficiently anti-intellectual that it failed to vote against a dimwitted crook devoid of patriotism or morals.

When Americans finally reach the 20th century, they might be open to considering a superior candidate despite the fact that she has indoor plumbing.

The need to cheat

Because no well-informed person in their right mind would choose corporate-shill wrong over pro-citizenry left, the worst UNpresident and worst Badministration in American history NEED to cheat:

Erik Prince, the security contractor with close ties to the DUHnocchio Badministration, has in recent years helped recruit former American and British spies for secretive intelligence-gathering operations that included infiltrating Democratic congressional campaigns, labor organizations and other groups considered hostile to the Crook-in-Chief agenda, according to interviews and documents.

Sneaky operations were run by Project Veritas, a conservative group that has gained attention using hidden cameras and microphones for sting operations on news organizations.

Both Project Veritas and Prince have ties to UNpresident Cheater-in-Chief’s aides and family. Whether any Putin's-Puppet Badministration officials or advisers to the UNpresident were involved in the operations, even tacitly, is unclear. But the effort is a glimpse of a vigorous private campaign to try to undermine political groups or individuals perceived to be in opposition to DUHnocchio’s agenda.

Prince, the former head of Blackwater Worldwide and the brother of Education Secretary Destroyer Batty DuhVos, has at times served as an informal adviser to DUHnocchio Badministration officials. He worked with the [convicted] former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn during the UNpresidential transition. In 2017, he met with White House and Pentagon officials to pitch a plan to privatize the Afghan war using contractors in lieu of American troops. Jim Mattis, then the defense secretary, rejected the idea.

(As education secretary destroyer, DuhVos has been a vocal critic of teachers’ unions, saying in 2018 that they have a “stranglehold” over politicians at the federal and state levels. She and Prince grew up in Michigan, where their father made a fortune in the auto parts business.)

Prince appears to have become interested in using former spies to train Project Veritas operatives in espionage tactics sometime during the 2016 presidential campaign. Reaching out to several intelligence veterans — and occasionally using Mr. Seddon to make the pitch — Mr. Prince said he wanted the Project Veritas employees to learn skills like how to recruit sources and how to conduct clandestine recordings, among other surveillance techniques.

Prince is under investigation by the Justice Department over whether he lied to a congressional committee examining Russian interference in the 2016 election, and for possible violations of American export laws. Last year, the House Intelligence Committee made a criminal referral to the Justice Department about Prince, saying he lied about the circumstances of his meeting with a Russian banker in the Seychelles in January 2017.

Once a small operation running on a shoestring budget, Project Veritas in recent years has had a surge in donations from both private donors and C*N*servative foundations. According to its latest publicly available tax filing, Project Veritas received $8.6 million in contributions and grants in 2018. Mr. O’Keefe earned about $387,000.

Project Veritas has also become intertwined with the political activities of Crook-in-Chief and his family. The FAKE Foundation gave $20,000 to Project Veritas in 2015, the year that LIAR-in-Chief began his bid for the UNpresidency. The next year, during a presidential debate with Hillary Clinton, IAR-in-Chief claimed without substantiation that videos released by (PV head James O’Keefe showed that Mrs. Clinton and President Barack Obama had paid people to incite violence at rallies for White-Nationalist-in-Chief.

In a book published in 2018, O’Keefe wrote that Cheat-in-Chief years earlier had encouraged him to infiltrate Columbia University and obtain Mr. Obama’s records.

Last month, Project Veritas made public secretly recorded video of a longtime ABC News correspondent who was critical of the network’s political coverage and its emphasis on business considerations over journalism. Many conservatives have gleefully pounced on Project Veritas’s disclosures, including one particularly influential voice: DUH Jr., the UNpresident’s [despicable] eldest son.

Why would delegates choose another cognitively-failing, already-dim man with a dubious policy-history just because he's riding on an over-cautious president's coat-tails and not sufficiently progressive?

DUHnocchio and the Badministration have always been symptomatic of a failing system and a poorly-informed (read, DISinformed/selfish) electorate.
